Halloween 2011

Another Halloween has come and gone. We could not have asked for better weather last night. Brooklyn was a pretty witch, 0 You thought it was Christmas though because the kids came running downstairs at 6 am in the morning ready to get the day started. I remember when I was their age and was totally excited to go to trick or treating. Back in the day, I remember dressing up and going to school and having Halloween parties but these days they don't even allow the kids to wear their costumes nor have a party. Times are certainly different now. Also, I couldn't believe how many kids their were trick or treating. We almost ran out of candy for the first time. Daddy stayed home and answered the door while Renee and I took the kids around the neighborhood. This is the first year that Madison really knew what was going on and what to do. She had a blast ringing the doorbell. The kids got so much candy that we have enough till Easter. Santa doesn't even have to give candy in their stockings this year but we all know what won't happen. This year was a success!!!!

The Great Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday, we took the kids to the pumpkin patch at a Methodist Church for them to pick out their pumpkins to carve. It was a beautiful morning and the kids had a blast. We let each kid pick out their own pumpkin. Of course, Brooklyn wanted the biggest pumpkin but that wasn't happening so she had to settle with a little smaller one, Logan picks out a cute small pumpkin and well Madison she goes different and picks one out with warts. I have never had one with warts before but that is Madison for you, she is different and wants to be different. We took some great pictures and then the kids got to play in the jump houses. It was a great morning and a great start to the weekend.

Pumpkin Carving

The kids couldn't wait to carve their pumpkins. Each of them chose their pumpkin at the pumpkin patch yesterday. Of course, Madison was different and chose one with warts. When we started to carve everyone's pumpkin's I realized that we couldn't really carve out Madison's so I am keeping that for decoration and I had two small pumpkins that we carved, Logan wanted to a scary pumpkin, so daddy did his and I worked on the girls. Brooklyn ended up with a cat and Madison was simple and a happy pumpkin. This is the first year that the kids really got into carving them. I just hate the mess that they make but it was still fun.

Safety Town Safe Treat 2011

Well this year was no different at Safety Town. The kids had a blast and the weather was perfect!!! As always, we went with Michele and her gang. The kids were so cute looking and we saw many cute costumes. The one thing that scares Madison is adults wearing costumes. She is terrified of them and wanted to go once she saw them. Michele took Logan and Brooklyn and mommy and Madison stayed in the Pulte house with Brandt and his dad and helped with the candy. I told the kids they got so much candy that they didn't need to Trick or Treating but they didn't like comment so I guess we will go trick or treating on Monday. Enjoy the pictures.

Fall Festival 2011

The weekend of daddy's knee surgery we had our Fall Festival. I know, great timing. Mommy was on her own that night and let me tell you it was not a fun night for mommy. The kids had fun though. This was the first time where we didn't have dinner provided and we had 4 bounce houses. Mommy really went back and forth between the house and outside with the kids. The good thing was that I knew the kids were safe and there were plenty of families around so if I did go back to the house the kids were being taken care. As always, Logan loved getting all of his balloons made and the girls had fun getting their face painted. I thought the pictures turned out cute!!!

A Very Sick Household

This week has been a nightmare for our household. It all started with Brooklyn going to the doctor on Sunday for her ears. Then in the middle of the night, she woke up screaming in pain. I had looked in her ear and her ear canal was swollen shut. I had called the nurse on call and she sent us to the ER at Presby Plano. The ER doc didn't do much for her but gave us some antibiotics. I took Brooklyn to the pediatrician's office and Dr. Messner was not too happy with the docs that have treated her. By the end of this week, we finally got into an ENT. Yesterday we Dr. Rohn and he used a vacuum to get all the junk out of her ear. She ended up having an inner, middle and outer ear infection. She had a triple whammy!!!!!! After a couple of hours, Brooklyn started to feel better. I just hope we are on the mends. With all three kids sick and on medication, mommy is exhausted.

A Quiet Weekend

This weekend is the first weekend in quite sometime that we don't have anything going on. This is a good thing because now Madison is sick. Luckily Logan's stuff wasn't anything serious so I think Madison has what ever Logan had. There isn't really much else to report. Monday is a holiday for the kids. I have made several doctor's appointment for Brooklyn. She is going to the dentist and she is also seeing the allergist. We will see what happens on Monday. Brooklyn may not be too happy with me after all the appointments.

Logan Goes to the Doctor and Daddy is having Knee Surgery

Well I took Logan to the doctor's today to make sure he doesn't have strep. The verdict is no!!! I am glad about that. He is so ready to go back to school. He is on some antibiotics just to kick start his sinus infection and make him feel better. It has been nice though because the last two days Madison and Logan have fallen asleep in front of the tv and have taken a good nap. Mommy is able to get some stuff done in the house which is nice.

Also, daddy is scheduled to have knee surgery next Thursday. His MRI was inconclusive if he has a tear or not. The doctor also told him that his knee pain could be related to his hip surgery and him not walking correctly but who knows. I guess we will know next Thursday.

Logan is Sick

Well it has been quite sometime that any of our kids have been sick. Today Logan stayed home from school. He had a horrible night last night and woke up wheezing and a very bad cough. By the time he fell asleep and mommy fell asleep the alarm went off to get Brooklyn ready for school. I kept Logan home today because of his cough and cold. This evening he started running a high fever. Well I know where I am spending my morning tomorrow....the doctors. I had a meeting at Apple Creek and I found out that there were 4 kids out sick today in his class and 3 of them were positive for strep. I guess we will know tomorrow. This afternoon Madison showed some signs of getting sick. She even fell asleep today watching tv. Madison was in daddy's chair and Logan was on the floor and they both slept for 2 hours or so. Mommy was able to get the whole kitchen cleaned, the floors mopped and the Halloween decorations out and the house decorated. I hope tomorrow is a better day for both of them and no one else gets sick.

Mom Celebrates Her 34th Birthday

Well I can't believe I made it 34 years. It has been a journey to say the least. Today I had a very busy day. Actually last night, we celebrated my birthday since today was a school day. The kids had a blast helping me have a special day. The funny thing is that Brooklyn had it all planned out on what she wanted to buy me. She wanted to buy me a diamond necklace with matching earings, a dress and shoes to go along with the dress. Well, I think I hurt her feelings because I told her that I don't need a dress because I wouldn't know where to wear it. Well finally they figured out what to get mommy and I got a couple of shirts and daddy bought me a beautiful watch. I haven't worn a watch in years so today felt weird wearing something on my left wrist. Another great gift was that Renee was discharged from the hospital today. Earlier today I went over to my parents house and decorated her room and dropped off some goodies. Well great minds think alike because she surprised me with some goodies as well. Overall today was a great day and a great birthday.

Renee Goes Back to the Hospital

Today, Renee saw Dr. Feagins and well she is being admitted into the hospital tonight. For one thing, her blood pressure was 160-78 or close to it and her stoma did not look good at all. Renee can never time anything right because our 34th birthday is just around the corner, Monday. I just hope they can get her infection under control and she can get out of there. It never fails with her. She can't do anything easy.

Mommy Goes Back to the Doctor

Well today was suppose to be a normal checkup for my knee. The problem was I couldn't figure out why I was still having joint pain in my leg. Well today I found out the reason. I have a 4 inch stress fracture right under where Dr. Conway broke my bone. In his years of practice, he has never seen anyone get a fracture like this after this type of surgery. Well I am his first. I have to go back on crutches for 3 weeks and I go back to him on Oct 18th and have the leg re-xrayed. This is not good. I hate being on crutches but at least I got confirmation that I don't have to go back in the brace. I guess we will wait and see. If the fracture does not heal then I may have to go back into surgery and he will have to put some more screws in.

Brooklyn Returns to Ballet

Well after Campbell has decided not to do dance this semester, Brooklyn has decided to go back to ballet. Brooklyn and Madison are doing their classes at the same time so it makes it easier for mommy. Campbell just didn't want to do dance and after her mom pushing her to do something she has decided to let Campbell not dance this fall. Brooklyn was upset but I told her that she doesn't have to do everything with Campbell. I felt that Brooklyn needed to stay in dance. Ballet is the fundamental piece to gymnastics and cheerleading. She said okay so her we are back to ballet and I am done switching classes. I hope the schedule stays for the rest of fall and into winter.

Madison's 3rd Birthday Party

Even though Madison turned 3 on Sept 5th, it is never too late to have a birthday party. In fact, she will most likely have her parties after Labor Day since that is a 3 day weekend and many people travel on that weekend. Regardless the best present was that Renee was able to help celebrate her birthday with her. Her first two parties, Renee has been in the hospital and at least this year she was there. We did nothing special but have a few close friends and family. Next year, Madison will be able to have a real birthday party with her school friends. Overall the party was a success and she got lots of minnie mouse stuff. I really can't wait to take the kids to Disney because it will be like Christmas for them.

First Grade Performs at Friday Morning Live

On Friday, first grade performed at Friday morning live. Every friday they do what is called Friday Morning Live. They say the allegiance, sing the Star Bangled Banner, their school song, and each month each grade will perform live. They also recognize the cool kids and recognize the kids birthdays. It is really cool to see in person and the kids have a blast. This year first grade performed first this year and they will perform at the PTA meeting on Tuesday.
