Mommy Sees the Surgeon

Today I saw the doc and got some answers regarding my restrictions. First and foremost, my incision looks good and that I am progressing. The reasons why I have longer restrictions was because when Dr. Conway broke the bone he had a hard time screwing everything back together. It wasn't as smooth as the last time. What all this means is my knee needs more time to heal so that is why I will have my brace on and using crutches for a full 8 weeks. That sucks but I also know in the end I will have 2 great knees.

We Buy All of the School Supplies

This past weekend we finally bought Brooklyn's school supplies for first grade. It feels weird that Brooklyn is going into first grade and that Logan will start a pre-k program. Poor Logan wanted to buy a lunch box but I had to explain to him that he could buy one for next year when he goes to kindergarten. Then there was Madison, she wanted to buy some stuff but I told her that she will go to Apple Creek starting next year. It kind of makes me sad that my kids are growing up and that eventually all of them will be in school. What will mommy do then?

The Kids Have Had Fun All Week

The kids have had fun with MeMe coming to the house and taking care of them. She probably needs a vacation to recover from taking care of my little ones. The love when she comes. They don't get to see Meme as much as they see their grandma and grandpa. I am sure that Meme has enjoyed every second of it. Next week it is just Aunt Nei for a couple hours a day and then mommy will take over again.

The Kids Go To Chuckie Cheese

Brooklyn spent the night with Campbell last night and didn't come home till late this afternoon. MeMe and PawPaw took Logan and Madison to Chuckie Cheese to play some games and then went to McDonald's for some lunch. The kids had a blast and Madison loved playing with PawPaw.

Now as for mommy, I had my first physical therapy appointment today. PT is always a struggle the first time after surgery. You have so much swelling and your knee is stiff so you have to get use to moving your knee. I did make it through the whole hour and I was ready to come home and rest. That took a lot out of me but I will get use to it again.

A Final Chapter Comes to A Close

This morning the shuttle landed for the last time at Kennedy Space Center. Renee and I grew up with the space system and actually knew two of the astronauts that were killed in the Challenger. We also were able to witness a shuttle go up into space and that was amazing and something that I will never forget. It is sad that the space industry is in limbo now and now knowing where it is going what will happen to the Johnson Space Center. I guess we will have to wait and see what will happen and that we can make it back to space soon.

Brooklyn Sees her Eye Surgeon Today

Aunt Nei Nei took Brooklyn to her doctor's appointment for her eye. I was hoping that Brooklyn would not have to go back for 3 months but nope she has to return in 3 weeks. She still has a small dry patch on her eye. We have to start giving her eye drops 4 times a day now and put ointment in her eye at night now. Why can't we do anything easy around her. I just hope this is all healed up by the time she starts school in August. I guess we will wait and see.

Mommy had Surgery Again

Yesterday I had reconstructive knee surgery but on my right knee. I had my other knee done back in February and I had so much success that we decided to do the right one. My right knee was not as bad as the other knee but still had a lot of pain. I hope this is my last surgery for quite some time. The kids didn't like the fact that I didn't come home last night but they were very happy to see me today. Now mommy is in bed recovering and Aunt Nei Nei is taking care of the kids. The kids are being really good for mommy and leaving me alone so I can get some rest. It will be a long road ahead for me but we will get through it.

A Busy Day

Today, was a busy day. The kids had a playdate with one of Logan's favorite friend, Danielle. The kids went over there to play and eat lunch while I was able to catch up on some cleaning at home. Everyone had fun and Fran took some cute pictures of them all. Logan tells Danielle's mom that they are boyfriend and girlfriend and that they held hands today and kissed each other on their cheek. I wish I was there to see this. Logan maybe one to watch out for with the girls. After that, we all came home and got ready for the afternoon. Brooklyn had dance today and unfortunately I had to drop her off because I had to go pick Grandma up at the bus station. The kids stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and Brooklyn stayed with Campbell because mommy had a meeting this evening regarding her PTA position. With daddy in Kentucky, it was a weird day and everyone was spread out all over the place. Once I can figure out how to download the pictures from facebook I will post them on the blog from today.

We Started to go School Shopping

Well we have started the process of going school shopping and really fall shopping if you can believe that. It is expensive to say the least. Even if you shop the sales and it can all add up. Even though Madison doesn't go to school just yet we can't leave her out. I remember doing this as a young child and loved it. I wanted to be the best dressed. Well being the best dressed can cost a lot of money these days and having three kids will add up fast. It will still be fun to say the least. Brooklyn and Logan had a blast yesterday shopping. I have made a spreadsheet of what I need to buy and a budget and I might just blow my budget. We will see. Buying shoes for everyone, long sleeve shirts, jeans etc and pajamas you would be surprised how fast that all adds up.

The Kids and I Went to the Allen Spray Park

Since last summer, we have been trying to go to the Allen Spray Park. The first time we went, we went on the day that they shut it down for maintenance. Well we never went back after that. Well this summer we would try to do it again. The first time we went to the park, they were doing unplanned maintenance so we had to figure out where to go next. Well today we hit the jack pott because it was working and the kids were excited. We were there for a couple of hours but I will tell you it was HOT!!!!! Normally we would stay for a couple of hours but the heat was getting to me and to Michele so we called it quits at 1230 and went home. Everyone crashed by the time the car got moving. It was a fun day overall.

The Dallas Zoo Trip

Ok, this has been a couple of weeks but here are my pictures I took of the kids. We went with one of Brooklyn's classmate and her mom. The kids had a blast. It was on the same day the Mavericks had their parade. Yes, it was hot and no we will not return to the zoo until it is cooler and probably not until next year. The kids have not been to the Fort Worth zoo so that might be our next trip.

Another Day in the Booth Family

Today was another busy day for us. This week has not been the best week for us. It started with Madison breaking my phone, Brooklyn trying to choke Logan and leaving a mark and finally Madison decides to fall splat on her face at the mall and bust her lip. Michele and I agreed that by the end of the summer one of our kids will end up in the ER. I just hope that doesn't come true at ALL. I am not sure what is going on with my kids and why things are happening the way they are. I think that they are all dare devils and believe that nothing bad can happen to them. Who knows. I guess this story will continue another day.

Mommy Gets A New Phone

After going back and forth, daddy decided to go get me another iphone. I thank my hubby for doing this for me and I have learned a valuable lesson which is not to let my kids play with my phone. I know it is a good babysitter but the phone is mine and not my kids. Yes, they can play games and watch movies, etc but they will no longer have access to my phone.

A Good Checkup with Brooklyn's Doc

Brooklyn saw her eye surgeon today. The surgeon was very pleased with her eye. Her dry patch is getting better and her vision is improving. She will be able to get in the pool on Saturday. I hope that daddy will be on board with her going swimming. I know that I am ready to go back to the pool. We don't have to see the doc for two weeks and I am glad because it's a drive and after that we won't have to see him for 3 months. We are finally on the mends so lets keep our fingers crossed everything is goes smoothly from here on out.

Madison Breaks my Phone

Well today mommy is without a cell phone right now. Madison thought it would be funny that she could put my phone in her sprite. That didn't go over well and when Brooklyn told me it was too late. I am so mad at her right now but I am fully responsible because my kids think that my phone is toy. Fortunately, I am within 5 months of my contract renewal with AT&T and it would only cost me $50.00 but daddy isn't happy with me. He calls me irresponsible and won't replace my phone. I would love to just go out and buy a new one but unfortunately mommy has no money to do that. For right now, no one can reach me unless they email me or call me at home. Who knows when I will get a new phone.

Celebrating the 4th

I am so glad this weekend is over. It was a long fun weekend for the kids. On July 2nd, we took the kids over to the park to see the Frisco fireworks. Our neighborhood did a picnic and we opted not to go over there because of Brooklyn's leg and her eye but we did manage to see the fireworks. Of course I didn't have any cameras with me and Madison held her first sparkler. It was adorable and she had a blast. The Frisco fireworks shoot right at our neighborhood. We dont' have to go anywhere and that is awesome. With that being said, driving down to Kaboom town in Addison was a different story. We had a blast down there. Last year was our first time down there but it was storming last year so not very many people came but this year we got a taste of how crowded it really is. We went with our good friends the deWaal's. Michele's husband went down there earlier to get us a good seat next to the stage and a perfect place to watch the fireworks. Yes it was hot but the kids had so much with with everyone else's kids and we just had a great time. By the time the fireworks started I think the kids kind of checked out but overall it was a blast and Logan loved the air show. Going home was a problem. Daddy and the kids and I got separated and we ended walking to the car by ourselves and the kids didn't like the fact that we were separated. Thankfully daddy was already at the car waiting for us. I just hope next time daddy takes his cell phone so if something like this happens again we can contact each other.

We Go Back to the Doctor

Yesterday the kids and I went over to Scott and Carrie's to see their new addition. The kids wanted to play outside and they did and that afternoon Brooklyn complained about a bite on her leg. I didn't think anything of it and this morning her leg was swollen and the bite grew and now there is a big welp on her leg. I feel so bad for her. First her eye surgery and now this. We are not sure what bit her but she is now on benedryl every 6 hours, we have an ointment cream to put on and she is on oral antibiotics. Hopefully by tomorrow we should see the bite decrease in size. I drew a circle around the bite so I know if it has gotten worse or it has gotten better. Only time will tell. If it's not one thing it's another with our family.
