Logan Attends His First School Social

Today was a busy day for the booth family. I didn't realize that when I was organizing Logan's school social I had scheduled it on the same day that Brooklyn had her boosterthon fun run. None the less, we made all appearances and by the end of the day the kids were exhausted. We had Logan's social at McDonald's. You can't go wrong with that. Logan and Madison had a blast playing with all of the kids. I think they played more than ate their lunch but that is okay. They eventually ate their lunch at home. This was the first social of the year so it was a great opportunity to meet all of the parents and learn the kids names as well. Usually the first function has the best turn out so hopefully we can maintain a good turnout through out the year. I will have to say it was a success and if you ask Logan he would agree with mommy. Madison was along for the ride but she had just as much fun as everyone else.

Boosterthon Fun Run

Today was Brooklyn's school Boosterthon fun run. All the grades in the school are given a form and they are encouraged to get as many pledges or donations as possible. This is the only fundraiser their school has planned so its a big one. The object of this fun run is each kid is "suppose to run 35 laps." Now these laps are pretty short but I will tell you the kids were running hard and they did get tired toward the end. Each grade was given 1 hour to do their run and all their family members were out there supporting their child. We all had a great time out there and I made posters for many of our parents who showed up and supported the class. The money being raised is going toward a tarp to put over their playground. Their goal was $25,000 and from what they were saying today, they did achieve that goal. I was proud of Brooklyn and thank you all who gave Brooklyn donations. The money is going toward a great cause.

Safety Town

This past Friday was trick or treat at Safety Town. This is the second year that we have done it and if it wasn't for Michele's husband, Will there is no way I would stay in line to get into the facility to go trick or treating. There are tons of sponsors and plenty of candy to go around. All week we were watching the weather. At times during the day it did rain but we thought the rain would hold off until after the event. We are able to get into the facility about 45 minutes before everyone else. After that they open the doors for everyone else. We managed to get through the whole place before it really started to storm. We got in our cars right before the rain just fell out of the sky. Thank goodness it was a success for us. You would think with the weather and the Texas Rangers there wouldn't have been a lot of families there but that wasnt' the case at all. Here are some pictures from Friday night. Brooklyn and Campbell were twins and they were Fairies, Logan was a dinosaur, Madison was a purple unicorn and Blake was a dragon.

Safety Town Trick or Treat

Friday night was trick or treat at Safety Town. We had a blast and I took lots of pictures. I will tell everyone more tonight when I download the pictures and update the blog. More to Come !!!!!

A Sad Ending

I am sad to report that Grandpa took Sydney to the vet and we put her down. We spoke with Dr. Bobo on Friday and told us to wait because she might get through her paralysis. Unfortunately, she wasn't eating and when grandpa took her in the vet told him there was a good possibility that she had a brain tumor. We did the right thing but what is hard was that Renee, her caregiver, was not there to say goodbye to her. We love our animals but the worst part about owning animals is dealing with the fact that we would have to put them down or they will die on their own. This makes #3 for our family and I hope this is it for many years to come. At least Renee was able to give Sydney 2 more good years of her life because we did find out that before being adopted she was bouncing back and forth from the SPCA.

They Happen in 3's

This morning when I talked to Grandma, they had some more bad news. Yes, Renee is back in the hospital and we are not sure how long she will be there this time but her Siamese cat Sydney had a stroke last night. She came downstairs last night for her dinner but this morning my mom was going to feed her breakfast and she tried to get up and fell right back down. Renee is just devastated. I didn't know that she was 12 years old and it is common for Siamese cats to have strokes when they are older. Kiki had a stroke before she passed away. These last two months have been hard. It started with Sammy, then Zach and now Sydney. I am not sure what grandma and grandpa are going to do but it doesn't look good.

Mommy Survives Her Root Canal

As everyone knows, I really hate dentists. That is why I have some many problems with my teeth. Up until now, I have never had any laughing gas what so ever and if someone had given it to me before I think my teeth may be in better shape. I was there for two hours and it was the quickest two hours of my life. Granted, they had to numb me a couple of times so I wouldn't feel anything but after the last injection I was feeling pretty good and didn't feel a thing. Afterwards I felt a little woozy but it wore off and I was good to go. My mouth was pretty numb from the procedure but overall I did okay.

Logan The Social Butterfly

Well who knew that Logan can be the social butterfly of his class. We had our 6 week phone call with Logan's teachers and yes, Logan is the social butterfly. He talks with everyone and he wants to play with everyone in the class. I hope he continues this and he will have many friends in the future. Before he started school, he really didn't know his colors. At some point, we thought he could be color blind but that wasn't the case he just didn't know his colors. Now he could tell you what each color. A big difference from a couple months ago. We have also set a goal for him to start counting his numbers and recognizing his ABC's. He is on the right road for success!

Mommy Goes To the Dentist Again

Many you all know that I had a tooth pulled in April. Well, now I had another tooth crack and I now need a root canal. No offense to dentists, but I just dread going to the dentist. I am going to a new dentist literally around the corner from us. I am scheduled for the root canal on Thursday so I will let everyone know how it goes. The good thing about this tooth, it doesn't have to be pulled.

Grandma and Nei Nei and MeMe take the kids for the weekend

This was the first weekend in two years that daddy and mommy had a weekend to ourselves. This past weekend Scott's company had their annual company meeting at the W hotel downtown Dallas. Overall the weekend was a success. Friday night mommy and daddy attended the company's party with the 80's theme. Yes, mommy and daddy did dress up and yes I did get a picture of us but I think daddy wouldn't like the picture on the website. With mommy and daddy partying, the kids were at home with MeMe and grandma and Nei Nei. The kids had fun with everyone else. MeMe and PawPaw took Logan to his soccer game and mommy took Brooklyn to hers. Madison stayed at the house with Grandma and Nei Nei. Saturday night, mommy and daddy went out to dinner with some of Scott's coworkers and then the company held a party back at the hotel with desserts and drinks. It was nice to have a weekend fun with adults and no kids around. Mommy even slept in till 830 on both mornings. I wish we could have more weekends like this but having kids its kind of impossible. It's also hard to have someone watch the kids 24-7. It may be another year before daddy and mommy had another weekend to ourselves. I do want to tell everyone that Scott was recognized for being with the company for 5 years and received a nice pen and he was also recognized for another leadership award both mommy wasn't even there to see it. I was very proud of daddy.

Mommy Coaches Brooklyn's Soccer Game

Brooklyn's soccer coach was out of town on a retreat so mommy coached her team. I was hoping that the game itself would be uneventful but that was far from the truth. None of her teammates showed up till 5 minutes before the game was to start. That was just the start of my problems. I already knew that two of the players were going to be gone but I thought that everyone was going to be there. One of her teammates never showed so that only gave me 5 players to play. Therefore, everyone would have to play most of the game. One of the other teammates has been sick so she didn't feel like playing either. I also had another teammate who knows the game of soccer really well and plays very well had a meltdown. She didn't want to play anymore. I was beside myself. The other team's coaches were real sympathetic toward me and the team and offered to give us one of their teammates so we could finish the game. We only played 3 quarters instead of 4 because Fancy FC was just too tired to play. The girls that played did well and I am proud of them. I did realize that I still know nothing about soccer and I know now that I couldn't be a soccer coach. Regardless I survived the game and Brooklyn had fun. I owed her ice cream so after the game I took her to get her ice cream.

Logan is Playing Soccer

Logan's team is called the Tigers. They are so cute to watch. Logan is having a blast playing soccer. He loves to play with the referee. Last Saturday, Logan was able to get the ball from the opponent and and kicked it down the field. He did awesome. He has already had two games and this Saturday will be his 3rd. They don't let the kids practice during the week due to their young age. This is the time just to get use to soccer so as they get older then they are aware what soccer actually is all about. I have taken lots of pictures but here are a few to enjoy.

Brooklyn's Frist Field Trip

Today was Brooklyn's field trip a local pumpkin patch. All the kids had a blast. I was one of the chaperones and enjoyed every bit of it. They divided all the classes up and each of the class went around to numerous stations. It was very interesting on how they incorporated school with a field trip. Brooklyn did ride her first hayride. They also did some arts and crafts and they even got to take home a cute little pumpkin. The weather was perfect for them. It looked like everyone had a great time. I took lots of pictures but here are a few to enjoy.

We Attend the State Fair of Texas

Yesterday we did our annual trip to the State Fair. We kept Brooklyn home from school to go to the fair. It $3.00 admission per person and every ride was only $2.50. Just that alone saved us alot of money. Everyone knows how expensive it is so going on a week day was well worth it. We started with the animals. Everyone loved the animals and feeding them as well. One of the exciting exhibits was the Zebra. The zebra gave birth to a baby girl two days ago. It was precious. Mommy tried the fried frito pie. That was yummy. We also had the Fletcher's corny dogs and for the first time the kids tried cotton candy. Suprisingly enough the kids were not as thrilled about. I guess that is good for us becuase that is filled with lots of sugar. We couldn't have asked for a nice weather day. In fact, everyday that the fair has been open the weather has been perfect. We walked around the fair, visited Big Tex and then off to the midway. This year Logan was able to ride the rides with Brooklyn. There were two rides that Logan went on by himself and he didn't like that one bit. After those two rides, we put them back together on the same ride and Logan had no problems. He relys on his big sister for support. After the rides, we played some games. After that, we went on home and we weren't in the car 5 mintues and everyone was fast asleep.

Grandma, Grandpa and Nei Neig Get a New Boxer

Even though it's only been less than a week that Zach has passed away they adopt a new boxer. Grandpa was on the websites immediately looking for a new pal for Callie. Grandpa found a listing for a boxer named Baylee to go to a new home. His owners just moved to Arlington and their landlord decided that they couldn't have their dog so they had to give him away. Like I said, his name is Baylee, and he is known as a "flashy boxwe". Last night after Brooklyn's game we went over their house to see Baylee. He is a sweetie and according to his previous owners he loves other animals and even kids. Baylee does need some good loving because he is on the skinny size but within time he should put on a few pounds. Callie was happy to have a new friend at home. Here are some pictures of Baylee. Enjoy!!

Brooklyn Scores Her First Goal

Of all games, Brooklyn scores her first goal. Her and her teammate Callie both scored the first point of the game. Usually everyone is there to watch the game but this game was at 7pm and daddie stayed home to get the kids ready for bed. I was very proud of her. She loves playing the game so I hope that continues for quite awhile. From left to right, Emma, Brooklyn, and Sydney.

Picture Day

Yesterday was picture day for the Booth kids. We had them bright and early at 9 am because any later the kids would not cooperate with the photographer. There were many pictures that turned out so cute. You all can be the judge.

More to Come

I know that I haven't been good updating my blog lately but I have many pictures and many stories to share. I will get everyone caught up by this weekend.

Zach Goes to Doggie Heaven

This morning I met my dad at our vet. Zach has lived a great life. My parents became foster parents for boxers in Katy, TX and Zach was their first dog. When Zach came to my parents, he was malnurished and had cigarette burns over his body. My parents nursed him back and decided to keep him. He had no idea what toys were and once he was well enough he loved his toys. We figured that Zach was at least 10 years old but probably older than that. He lived a great life and had many animals surrounding him. He loved his cats and his pal Callie. I didn't want my dad to go through the process alone so I met him at the vet and we didn't it together. It was very sad but I know that he is with all of his buddies, Sammy, Kiki, Baby and Guy.
