Logan and Madison join Brooklyn for Lunch

Yesterday, Logan and Madison got to eat lunch with Brooklyn at school. Both of them were so anxious to eat lunch. It was adorable to see them walking in with lunch boxes. This whole week is book fair week and Brooklyn and the kids worked real hard in cleaning parts of the house that they got to buy some books yesterday. Last week the kids got to go to the book fair and put some books on a wish list. Brooklyn was so excited to go. She had her wish list in her hand and she got to pick out two. She wanted more books but Logan and Madison had to get 1 and I only had enough money for four books. She wasn't too happy about that. Basically, she had a meltdown at school in front of her classmates and her teachers. I was not very happy with her. I told her that she should be happy that she even got books at the fair. There are some kids that are as lucky as you. After awhile she settled down and went to play on the playground.

Brooklyn's teacher comes back to School

Many of you probably didn't know that Brooklyn's kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Womack, had a heart attack over Spring Break. The first part of spring break, she had the flu and then she got shingles and the night that I brought over dinner for her and her family she had a heart attack. Her teacher is the most fit teacher, she eats very healthy and is always working out. She does not fit the profile what so ever. Well I went into room mom mode and kept the student's parents updated for the past two weeks, she missed her birthday and today we welcomed her back with open arms. I had all the students bring in a flower to welcome her back, and at lunch time I came and decorated her room and then they celebrated her birthday with a yummy cookie cake. Last Tuesday was her real birthday and I delivered her a cupcake, her class birthday gift, and a subway sandwich. I have never seen a teacher so emotional before. When she opened her gift, she was just in tears and speechless. As the class mom, I took the money I collected and bought her a pandora bracelet from Brighton, with an apple that says #1 teacher, and a charm of a little boy and a charm of a little girl to represent her kids. Needless to say she loved the present and the class enjoyed their cookie cake. Growing up I remember only 3 teachers that touched my life and Mrs. Womack has touched my life but has touched Brooklyn's life in way that she will remember for the rest of her life. I truly believe that it takes a special person to be a teacher especially a kindergarten teacher. Those are the teachers you want to have.

An Uneventful Weekend

We had a very quiet weekend. We just ran errands on Saturday, had a nice lunch out and came home and stayed in the rest of the day. On Sunday, the kids and mommy went to visit Aunt Nei Nei. Renee should be home by Wednesday at the latest. This year we are doing Easter attire differently. I decided to get something where they can where all summer long. We are having pictures done next week. This time I am going with a photographer that was referred to me by Michele. These will be outside pictures so I hope they turn out great and the weather cooperates. Other than that nothing else to report. Our birdies are doing great. The babies have not been born yet but will keep everyone updated.

We just visited Renee

Well, we just got home from visiting Renee in the hospital. We dropped off some balloons and some goodies for her. She looks good and is ready to come home but she will be in the hospital for a couple of more days for IV antibiotics. The kids like seeing her but I don't like how they have changed buildings. All of the women's health is now in the Jackson building and not in the Perot building anymore. The perot building only has OB patients. The kids have always liked to go and see the new babies and now they can't because we are in a different building now. Anyway she should be home soon.

Renee goes back in the hospital

Today Renee goes in for her central line. She is having surgery tomorrow for the doc to do some work on her stoma. This is a scheduled surgery so hopefully everything will go okay and she will be home by the weekend. This is one of two surgeries that is scheduled for the next two months. In May, she will have her hysterectomy which she is not looking forward to but needs to happen so she can stay healthy. As a mom, I can't imagine not being able to bear kids but I have told her multiple times that there are many kids that need adoption. I will keep everyone updated through facebook and my blog.

My birdies came back

For the past three years, I have had the same family come back and have babies. This year they came back and formed a nest in the little tree across from the other tree. She has four eggs in there. I am very anxious for them to hatch. I know the kids had fun last year with the birdies so I know they will be thrilled to know the mommy bird has come back.
